New Year’s resolutions (downstream)
Some New Year’s resolutions can require lots of willpower. Losing weight is one of them. We may find ourselves fighting against the current instead of paddling downstream and enjoying the journey.
Here are some alternatives. This New Year you can resolve to:
• Focus on what you like most in each person you encounter.
• Discover the talents you love to use, and use them to serve others.
• Accept things as they are, and then work towards what you’d love to see in the world.
These resolutions reduce our resistance to the flow of the river. They point us downstream towards what we love and enjoy most. As we paddle along, wonderful things happen. New people appear in our lives, as well as opportunities we’ve never imagined. Even losing weight can be easier when we let go of stress and enjoy life.
